Dear State Association,
This communication concerns a survey developed by RID and NAD to
identify the areas of specializations our interpreters should have
that impacts the quality of our experience with interpreting services.
This may enhance the productivity of our careers and lives:
https://lucas141.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_a2SW8c0WQxHSzis. Please
forward this email to your members.
Once we receive your response to this survey, we will then develop a
2nd survey that will collect information about specifics about the
areas of specialization that you identify in the 1st survey. Right
now we only have one specialized certifications that are still
actively being evaluated: Legal interpreting (SC:L). There are no
other specializations yet (consider: medical, mental health, IT, and
other areas). Your input, as well as your members' input is critical
in ensuring that the deaf community has a voice in the development of
specialized certifications.
Please do not delay. Thank you for your investment in our community.
